The queen of hill station ooty is paradise for tourist. Crown of ooty is ooty lake which is located at centre of Niligiris district. It is a artificial lake that covers 65 acres constructed by John Sullivan in the year 1824.The lake was empty and water flowing down the mountains streams made it usefull for fishing in early stages,Later the size got reduced so that current busstand and race course and lake park has been constructed by The TamilNadu Tourism Development Coporation in the year 1973 later providing the boating facilities as a tourist attraction.
